His formative years were spent writing graffiti, self-publishing fanzines and making experimental hip-hop – invariably designing and printing the record sleeves by hand.
A stalwart of the international Street Art movement, Kid Acne has painted large-scale murals across continents and exhibited extensively over the past two decades.
His illustrations have adorned products for some of the world's leading brands, whilst the man himself continues to produce epic slogans and wheat-pastes in the back streets of South Yorkshire.
Rendered in a distinct, loose style, his art explores a variety of themes from colloquialisms and typography to mythology and architecture. Kid Acne’s work can be seen throughout the globe; in gallery shows from North America to Western Australia.
His off key approach to rap music has spawned collaborations with kindred spirits such Req, New Kingdom, Jason Williamson (Sleaford Mods) and Chicago-based producer, Spectacular Diagnostics. He's shared stages with LEX family, including Prince Po, Jneiro Jarel, Flying Lotus, Danger Mouse and El-P.
And he still has acne.
