Triathalon’s Funeral Music started as a concept years ago pertaining to a group of songs that one would want to be played during their memorial. With the band continuously referencing “play this at my funeral”; a quote that would later reference the ultimate feeling of one’s experience, showcased for others to listen and understand their life and struggles. Or maybe just something to be remembered by.

The band’s fifth album transformed that concept and later became tangible. Conceptually these songs are a rebirth of the band, them as individuals and a stepping stone into a darker but yet optimistic new beginning. After a period of heartbreak, growing pains, and self discovery, this album showcases a darker side that allows the band to be vulnerable yet empowered within their delivery. Funeral Music as a whole not only reflects the band’s sonic shift but also reinvents the overall dynamics between the band’s sound, energy and workflow. These songs were written, demo’d, recorded and mixed in various places, bedrooms, studios and houses over the course of two years and without a doubt it’s the band’s strongest and most cohesive work to date.

Funeral Music lets the listener in on a far darker journey than before but still stays true to Triathlon’s narrative-like story telling leaving its listeners hopeful and full until the next chapter.
