ARCHENFIELD is an experimental exploration of regional identity. Working as an archivist and collagist, all sonic and visual elements (artwork/video) compiled by U emanated from the area once known as Archenfield. Meticulous research has gone into each track, samples used relate to each other, creating a reference maze or cultural study. With a nod to traditional music, he creates beautifully atmospheric sound pieces often mixed with snippets from film, TV, YouTube and found home recordings to create a stirring reflection on local history and broader themes of how we interact, or even fail to interact, with English folklore today.
